Julia Schuit was born in the Netherlands in 1954.
She studied and worked in social cultural education with children and adults through visual art.
In 1981 she moved to Ireland and for sixteen years she had a textile business with her partner through which she developed and created her own clothing designs under her label Tantansi.
In 2006 she completed her Bachelor Degree in Art and Design from GMIT in Galway, Ireland, after which she moved to France.
She has recently moved back to the Netherlands.

Her art is influenced by the natural environments she has lived in : the Dutch landscapes, the Hazel woodlands and carst limestone habitats of Ireland, the French alpine meadows and forests.

Her realism emerges from her inner response to the intensity of what she experiences through her senses, woven with the hope to capture some of the mysterious life-force of nature.

On this site you'll find some of her paintings. if you like to get in touch
